Our second fishing outing was another success—although, in the end, the weather was the real winner. It was a scorching day and the fish simply were not biting.

Alli was quick off the mark, using a pole for the first time and finishing with an impressive 10 fish. Kevin was also on his first lake-fishing trip. He may not have fully understood the rules at first—catching the island and donating a float and method feeder—but he soon found his rhythm and landed nine fish.

Lena beat Chris for the first time, three fish to two. Chris still insists his perch was bigger than hers; the debate continues and the lawyers have apparently been contacted. Linda's three perch felt like considerably more thanks to the excitement each one caused—and perch can now be added to the society species log.

Baz's cries of “here, fishy fishy” were surpassed only by his shirtless lap of the lake, which frightened the biggest fish of the day straight onto his hook. 😂

We heard very little from Gary until the end, when he quietly produced the biggest total weight and took first place. Charlie chased a carp around the lily pad before finally landing it, while Eggy became surprisingly vocal after losing a couple of fish.

We think DC caught a bream before packing up early—the heat made fishing hard work. Baz's son also caught a bream, but was it a one-off appearance or will he be joining us again?

Keith reported three excellent naps and two twigs. Blossom took to acrobatics after missing a bite, then quickly recovered by catching a tree—we hope you're okay, Blossom! 🌸
