A lovely sunny day brought 12 anglers to the bank for what turned out to be a memorable inaugural session. Draws were at 9:30am with fishing from 10am until 4pm.
Eggy was quickly into his rhythm with a plethora of carp all day, finishing as top rod with an impressive 70lb bag — including a stunning 15lb common alongside ghost carp, mirror, F1, koi, and bream. Dave followed with a solid 47lb net of silver bream, common, and a 10lb mirror. Gary, hidden from sight for much of the match, weighed in 35lb — the splashing from his peg had everyone guessing whether it was fish or wildlife. Jeff kept a steady flow of carp going, anchored by an 8lb mirror.
Baz caught one so big he returned it before the weigh-in — he was reported to have smiled, though this could not be confirmed. 😂
Keith also had a fine day, landing two carp with one being a personal best — a well-deserved result.
Blossom, Andrew, Linda, Ali, Lee, and Chris all provided a solid supporting role with silver fish throughout the day. Special mention to Alli for 2 sticks, a bush, and a net — you'll get 'em next time.
